Bevill State Community College (BSCC) is a shining example hands-on technology in education. BSCC operates two AKS tru-kut 5 x 10 plasma cutting systems with Hypertherm plasma supplies. Students in the Welding Technology and related programs have the opportunity to learn CNC plasma cutting on industry-leading AKS equipment.
The Career Technical Education Division of Bevill State is responsible for all non-health related skills training in the College service area. The Division is tasked with offering comprehensive workforce and community development service training to support the needs of the communities served.
The Division offers programs of study that lead to Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees, long-term certificates, short-term certificates, and certificates of completion. Training is available in high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers in a wide variety of career path options.

Graduates of the Machine Tool Technology program can explore a wide array of careers and possible occupations. Graduates are qualified to seek jobs as machinists, production machinists, manufacturers, tool and die makers, computer numeric control operators programmers, and quality inspectors.
According to labor statistics, the number of machinist positions is expected to grow faster than average in coming years and opportunities will be very good for those with the necessary skills. The placement rate of graduates of the Bevill State Machine Tool Technology program has exceeded 95% in recent years, with many students obtaining employment prior to graduation.
The Hamilton Campus of Bevill State is one of only a select group of schools in Alabama to have a CNC Wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM). The purchase of this machine will allow MTT students to be trained in three different areas of CNC, CNC Milling machines, CNC lathes, and the CNC wire EDM.
Classes in computer automated manufacturing (CAM) software, MasterCAM, will enable students to program different kinds of CNC machine tools from a personal computer.
And two AKS Cutting Systems tru-kut plasma tables with Hypertherm ProNest CAD/CAM software give students the chance to learn plasma cutting operations on world-class equipment.
