Waterjet Cutters

AKS Cutting Systems’ Self-Cleaning System — available as an option on the company’s accu-kut plasma cutting machine — boosts efficiency, saves time and increases workplace safety, contributing to an overall cost savings.

The Self-Cleaning System effectively removes debris from the plasma cutting process and deposits it beneath the table into a refuse drawer, which operators can roll out for easy disposal. This heavy-duty system is an operator’s dream when it comes to maintaining a clean, effective cutting table.

Water alone doesn’t cut into steel. The key ingredient is a granular abrasive – such as garnet – which increases a waterjet’s cutting power, slicing effortlessly into the hardest metals.

The quality of the abrasive has a direct impact on the quality of the cut, which is why AKS waterjet machines are equipped with industrial garnet from GMA Garnet Group, a global leader in the industry.

AG Equipment Co., a Broken Arrow, Oklahoma-based producer of natural gas compressor packages, purchased an AKS Cutting Systems plasma cutter in 2021 to meet its unique needs.

The company primarily cuts flat plates that will be rolled into pressure vessels and other components for the skids and lifting. Working with carbon steel and stainless steel of varying thicknesses — from 10-gauge up to three inches thick — AG Equipment needed a machine that offers both versatility and precision, according to President Kent Bright.

In celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2021, KMT Waterjet Systems honored AKS Cutting Systems with an award thanking the manufacturer of plasma cutting systems and waterjet cutters for its premier partnership.

KMT, the oldest manufacturer of waterjet pumps in the world, has been AKS’ pump vendor for eight years and wanted to recognize the successful partnership, according to Chuck Schmidt, Business Development Manager.

When Iscar GSE, a Miami-based company that builds state-of-the-art ground service equipment for the aviation industry, wanted to increase the precision of its operations, the solution was a plasma cutting machine from AKS Cutting Systems.
